"....we currently have a much faster system, much better band width configuration, and are paying almost exactly HALF of what we were paying before."

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

From: RipoffReport.com

"We should've known better when this company [Deltacom] took the whole month to connect our phone service. All they cared about to have the contract signed and payment processed. But it was a business phone we could not wait to start another process. It got only worse after that, they billed us for the things which were not in the contract, kept increasing charges contrary to the contract. It took three month and many phone calls to get at least a partial refund. The highlight of their billing practices was to charge us over a hundred dollars for the service visit because of the poor connection they provided. Even though the invoice which was given to us and for which we signed showed "zero" the charge appeared on the next phone bill. Representative of the company told us that invoice didn't matter, they would charge us anyways. In short it is a rip off company and with a lousy connection at that. Anybody would be better by staying away from them."

AT&T in the news for improper billing practices.

"AT&T Corp. will pay $50,000 to the state of Missouri for improperly billing more than 29,000 consumers. Those Missourians who paid the improper charge will receive or already have received refunds or credits under an agreement obtained by Attorney General Jay Nixon.

Beginning in January 2004, AT&T instituted a "monthly recurring charge" or a base charge of $3.95 per month for low-usage customers. AT&T mistakenly sent bills to former customers and some high-usage customers who would have been exempt from the charge."

"This is to inform all business / new customers about Nuvox. We signed up for their service to provide our office with internet & phone service back in Oct 2006. All service has been great. But for people who are looking at them for service, take a second look before you sign.

Why I say this is that we have a 3 year contract with them, and buried in the contact it says that they can raise the price of your service to anything they want to. I had to go back a take a second look when I got this notice on our bill about a rate increase. I called customers service about this and they said there was nothing they could do.

A contract is for a fixed price, not so they can up it later. I have read other contacts from all the other companies & Nuvox's contract is the only one that I have found that does this. All other contracts read that they will notify you of a rate increase 30 days before the contract is set to expire, so you can agree to the new contract price or cancel the service.

We where paying $480.00 per month starting in OCT 2006, now at DEC 2008, we are paying $540.12 per month. Over a 12 percent increase, and our contract is not up until OCT 2009. There has already been 2 rate increases.

We where going to adding more services to Nuvox, but when they hit our company with this, we decided not to give them any more business. And on top of that, we tried to talk to our sales rep & they will not even call you back, after leaving 4 messages.

This may not seem like allot to a larger business, but when we set our budget for a certain year and then they pull this, this is a company that I do not want to do business with. THIS IS JUST DIRTY BUSINESS.

If anybody wants to contact me on this you are more then welcome, I will be more than happy to share all the information I have."
